FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you work with all ages and all levels?
My clients include adults and teens. Prior music experience or some singing experience is recommended.
Where are the 1:1 appointments held?
Online appointments are delivered with the same level of quality and professionalism as in-person training. These sessions are for ongoing vocal technique development, voice conditioning, and performance preparation.
In-person appointments are available at two studio locations in Vancouver (Kitsilano and West Broadway), and are for singers preparing for specific performances. These sessions take place in a professional studio space that I book as needed and are subject to availability.
I also provide in-venue support for live performances, on-set coaching for film and television, and consulting during studio recording sessions.
How often should I take a voice lesson?
I have weekly, bi-weekly or monthly training options. There is a minimum 2-month commitment for monthly subscription programs. I do also offer drop-in lessons (subject to availability).
How do I practice?
Each time you have a 1:1 training session, you will receive a recording of your lesson program and you are encouraged to practice with that recording at least 3 x per week during the course of your training. For best results, it’s good to stay consistent with regular practice outside of your lessons.
What is your approach to training?
I am a voice teacher, voice coach, and vocal consultant, and I work with adults and teens of all levels. My approach is highly individualized, and I provide in-depth training tailored to each singer's voice, goals, and needs. I prioritize a sustainable approach that empowers you to progress between sessions.
Assessment: We will start by assessing your voice. I will ask you a few questions to get an idea of what you are looking to achieve vocally and assess your voice by having you sing a scale. Then we can decide which direction to take for training.
Vocal Warm-Up + Development: We will first warm-up your voice. Then we’ll proceed to tools that are designed to help with developing your vocal technique. You will get assigned customized development tools that are best suited for your voice and will help with your goals.
Application: Then we will focus on songs by applying technical tools to challenging song phrases and additional performance coaching.
What are your fees?
Training and coaching packages start at $350 CAD. To discuss training options and find the best fit for your goals, please get in touch through the
contact form.
What if I'm preparing for a specific performance?
It’s best to start training months or weeks in advance of a performance. I recommend starting as soon as possible well in advance of any vocal performance goal, whether it’s a recording, on set (film/tv) performance, an audition, a choral or solo performance or a tour.
